For the past while I’ve been trying to streamline my wardrobe by investing in more quality basics to stretch my closet farther. I’m by no means a minimalist but am endlessly obsessed with fashion blogs about minimalism and capsule wardrobes. If you’re looking to streamline as well, one concept you may want to consider is shopping your closet. The idea is that you pull a favourite piece and try creating new outfits centered around it with pieces you already own.
Some of my time over the past few years has been dedicated to attempting (heavy emphasis on attempting) to streamline my wardrobe and hone in on my personal style. That has included building a small collection of timeless and quality pieces of everyday jewelry that I love to wear.
I find myself reaching for lip gloss more and more as I age, especially in the cold months. My lips are much drier than ever before and lipstick is just not a good look for me most days.
My most recent Sephora order included the new Fenty Gloss Bomb Universal Lip Luminizer in the shade Fenty Glow which is described as a shimmering rose nude. The claim is that the gloss delivers shine and all three shades – Fenty Glow, Diamond Milk, and FU$$Y – flatter all skin tones. Fenty Glow certainly works with my pale complexion and I think it would be gorgeous on deeper skin tones as well.
My ride or die makeup products are mascara, blush, and some kind of lippy. I was just telling Mr. P&P the other night that those are my favourites and the ones I slap on if I only have seconds to spare. He was fascinated, I’m sure. Just in case you think it’s cruel of me to bore the pants off him like that, I had just sat through a half hour long retelling of the latest episode of Shameless he’d watched.
A while back Glossier was everywhere. Everyone was talking about it. At first I wasn’t too interested because their vibe is all about dewy, fresh skin. My skin is dewy enough. I do not need help in that department (the oily skin struggle is real friends). Eventually though I obviously fell for the hype.
