Well hello! Here we are in 2014. I can’t believe it, can you? I had my birthday and now I’m a year older, if not any wiser. So far this year has been tumultuous. Without going into any great detail, it’s not been great. That said I’m starting fresh and 2014 officially begins now in my world. Happy 2014 friends!
So I’ve already talked about the Soap and Glory Sugar Crush Body Buttercream. You know I adore it. You know what else I adore? The Soap and Glory Sugar Crush Body Wash.
I like it so much that I went all the way to Burnaby to get it. I had to take a bus and the sky train! It took an hour. I regret nothing. The scent is the same as the lotion. Light, fresh, and limey. It lathers beautifully. The product itself isn’t super thick but it suds up really creamy and rich. There’s a tone of the stuff in the bottle as well, it’s 500 ml. I’ve been using it for three weeks and only about a fifth of the bottle is gone!
This body wash is a total win. Do I recommend it? You betcha. Scoop it up, you won’t regret it. It’s available at some Shopper’s Drug Marts, and online at Sephora’s website.
Have you tried Soap and Glory?
Hello friends! Are you all looking forward to the holidays? I know I am! A bit of time off from work, a visit with my mama, parties to attend, and lots of yummy food are just some of things I’m excited about! I’m also pretty excited about all of the Christmas naps I’m going to take.
So for today’s post I’ve thrown together a few last minute gift ideas.
We’re down to the wire but better late than never, right? If you see something you like, click on the picture and it’ll take you to where you can buy it!
1. Cute socks.
I know this seems kind of boring, but I actually think a cute pair of socks makes a really sweet gift. Everybody needs socks! This pair is from the Gap and I think they’re adorbs!
2. Soap and Glory.
I am, like, soooooo loving Soap and Glory products right now. I’ve blogged about the Sugar Crush Body Butter, but I also love the Sexy Mother Pucker lip gloss, and most of the whole friggin’ line! These products are just so much fun.
Books are a great idea and you can always find one that is perfect for the person you have in mind! Some of my current picks include:
“It” by Alexa Chung
“Man Repeller” by Leandra Medine
Not that I need help repelling men (I’ve got that sorted) but I think it sounds like a fun read.
“And the Mountains Echoed” by Khaled Hosseini
I’ve read all of Hosseini’s books and I loved them. I read this one in one sitting – it’s that good.
4. David’s Tea
This stuff is delish and it makes a great stocking stuffer!
What’s on your last minute gift list?
I’m a city girl, most decidedly. I wish it hadn’t taken me 31 years to figure that out, but better late than never I suppose. There are a lot of things I love about city life: access to great food, great shopping, endless cute neighborhoods to discover, and things like Menchies and Krispy Kreme. I had a Krispy Kreme donut today and I swooned. It was so delicious.
Anyway, I’m not here to talk about donuts (though I certainly could wax lyrical)! I’m here to tell you about my latest, non-gastric obsession, Soap and Glory Sugar Crush Body Buttercream.
So you know when you’re drinking a fizzy pop, like 7 Up or something, and just before you sip it tickles your nose with bubbles? That’s what this stuff is like except that it’s in a scent. It sparkles. It’s one of the most unusual product scents I’ve ever come across. I love it but I could definitely see some people hating it. I just think it’s light, fresh, and yum.
As for the lotion itself, the consistency is totally dreamy. It’s so light; it has a whipped kind of texture. It’s not heavy or thick like a typical body butter. It absorbs quickly and leaves the skin lightly scented. Also, the tub is huge. It’s going to last for ages. There is 300 ml of product. I’m really loving this; I’ve been carrying it around with me everywhere!
So far I’ve only seen this line at Shopper’s but I’ll be sure to let you know if it pops up anywhere else.
Have you tried Soap and Glory?
I’m on a bit of a wish list kick lately. I’m not sure why that is, but they sure are fun to put together! Now you and I both know that the last thing I need is more make-up, but that doesn’t mean I can’t wish right? Exactly.
So, here is my current Sephora wish list.
1. Soap and Glory
Soap and Glory is really popular with beauty bloggers, and has been for some time. There are a lot more products from this line available in the UK, but we’re starting to see more in Canada. Sephora and Shopper’s Drug Mart are the only places I know of where it’s carried.
I really want to try the Mist You Madly Body Spray, Sugar Crush Body Scrub, and Sugar Crush Body Wash. *swoon*
2. Josie Maran Coconut Watercolor Cheek Gelee
I used to avoid cream blushes like the plague, but I’m starting to realize that I can wear them. I’ve heard a lot of good things about this one in particular.
3. Ojon Rare Blend Oil Total Hair Therapy
I loved the other Ojon Oil I tried and this one is just so friggin’ pretty!
4. Tarte Amazonian Clay 12-Hour Blush in Tipsy
This is another product that the beauty world is abuzz with and it’s totally worth the hype. I’m trying to get away from pink blush and I think this orange-coral shade is fun.
5. Marc Jacobs Honey
Every time I walk through Sephora (just casually and for no particular reason) I just have to take a squirt of this. I know everyone and their brother has probably bought it but it’s so nice.
So there you have it! What’s on your beauty wish list?
