Some of my time over the past few years has been dedicated to attempting (heavy emphasis on attempting) to streamline my wardrobe and hone in on my personal style. That has included building a small collection of timeless and quality pieces of everyday jewelry that I love to wear.
When I bought this shirt I wasn’t thinking about animal prints being huge this season, I believe my exact thoughts were, “gimme gimme gimme gimme”, but they are! There are lots of ways to incorporate a fun hit of jungle or safari fab into your wardrobe while still maintaining a work or daytime appropriate look.
Now, I love me a bold top, or bottom, or shoe, or pick-up line drink, but if you’re not feeling that brave think about adding a snakeskin belt, or earrings with an animal print, or a bracelet! One of the great things about this trend is that you’ll be able to find a lot of great pieces at thrift stores, the 80s were pretty animal heavy!
Top: Maison Scotch (Plenty), Pants: Jacob, Belt: “Borrowed” from my sister, Shoes: Aldo, Ring: Etsy, Earrings: Purchsed from a store in the Yukon ages ago, Watch: Belonged to my dad, Bag: Matt by Matt and Nat
Are you going to be incorporating any animal prints into your look this spring?
So I finally got around to framing and hanging the lovely art work I purchased for my bedroom in December! I just had to share this with you guys because it is so fabulous!
I purchased these lovely prints from I See Noise, an artist based right here in Vancouver! She has a great shop on Etsy; all of her prints are reasonably priced at only $20! There is a great selection of beautiful prints, like the two above, and some really cute sayings (I was sorely tempted by “Some Girls Are Just Born With Glitter In Their Veins”).
My bedroom is now complete! If you’re looking for a little something to amp up your space I recommend giving this great little shop a browse!
Most of the offices I’ve worked at have had some kind of casual Friday policy. I think it’s fun and it helps to boost moral. I enjoy having the chance to show off a bit more of my personality (not too much – I don’t want to scare people!) at work. I tend to push the envelope a bit when it comes to business casual by incorporating lots of bright colour and fun accessories, and I see casual Friday as a chance to push it even more!
I think today’s outfit is a perfect example of my philosophy when it comes to dressing for the office, fun and fashionable, but polished and professional at the same time.
Cardigan: Unknown, Top: The Gap, Jeans: American Eagle Outfitters, Pumps: Nine West, Belt: Abercrombie & Fitch (eBay), Necklace: Gifted, Watch: Belonged to my dad, Ring: Etsy
Fun fact: I’m 5’2 & 1/2″, but in these shoes I’m 5’6 & 1/2″! It’s fun being tall!
Would I get away with this casual Friday look at your office?
I don’t know if you guys are interested in what I’m wearing, but I certainly am! The only reason I don’t do outfit posts is that I don’t have a photographer (I seem to be the only single gal in the blogosphere); however, I’ve decided to do one and see how you like it!
So, without further ado here is what I’m wearing today! Please excuse the poor iPhone photo, it’s the best I could do:)
Top: Guess, Skirt: Kensie, Boots: Aldo, Tights: eBay, Necklace: House of Harlow 1960, Ring: Etsy, Watch: Belonged to my dad
I bought this skirt from Beyond the Rack two or three years ago and it’s one of the best purchases I’ve ever made. I find myself reaching for it at least once a week!
