Shopping my closet and how to shop yours

Shopping Your Closet

For the past while I’ve been trying to streamline my wardrobe by investing in more quality basics to stretch my closet farther. I’m by no means a minimalist but am endlessly obsessed with fashion blogs about minimalism and capsule wardrobes. If you’re looking to streamline as well, one concept you may want to consider is shopping your closet. The idea is that you pull a favourite piece and try creating new outfits centered around it with pieces you already own.

A few months ago I purchased a vintage camel blazer and have been wearing it at least twice a week ever since. Pinterest is a great resource for outfit inspiration and if your closet is feeling a bit tired. Here is an outfit I created after doing some Pinterest scrolling.

  1. I love this look. I’ve been wanting a camel blazer for ages! I really like your boots! I’ll have to try shopping my closet, as I always forget what I have. It’s always great making new outfits and looks using pieces and items you already have. Thank you for the inspiration!!

  2. I love doing this! I have a lot of fairly plain basics that makes it really easy to switch things around and create new outfits. I try to pull out older items that I love but don’t wear often and see what I can make them work with every once in a while. I’m a big believer in investing in basics too and spending smaller amounts on trend pieces that won’t get the same love x

  3. I love that blazer! I’m mad about blazers, they’re so versatile! I don’t have much in my wardrobe, as a 20 something Woman, most people would be surprised I think! I’ve never been into buying loads and loads of clothes, I just don’t see the need for it. I have stuff to wear? But getting good quality basics you can mix and match is a fantastic idea!

  4. Love the camel blazer and the boots! I feel like you could match those with virtually anything cause they’re neutral colors!
