Aurelia + Icarus
I was introduced to Aurelia + Icarus about a year ago when I became acquainted with the lovely blogger, Trace, who created the line. Trace is inspired by beautiful objects, cultures and styles. She translates that in her studio by turning gold and gems into collectable pieces of distinct, limited-edition jewelry. I was instantly smitten with the brand for a number of reasons, including their commitment to sustainability, the accessible price point, and the simplicity of their gorgeous pieces.
A quest to give a damn
Aurelia + Icarus strives to be sustainable and socially conscious. They want to make women feel good about themselves without harming the planet. They do this in a number of ways, including the following:
- their packaging contains no plastic and it is all recyclable and/or compostable;
- each collection is produced as a small batch to reduce excess waste, and leftover materials are reused;
- each piece is quality checked and made to last; they offset carbon emissions by investing in sustainable reforestation projects – a tree is planted for each purchase!
Celestial Tiny Star Hoops
Since we’ve been at home because of the pandemic, I’ve been doing my best to support the small businesses I love. I reached out to Trace to find out if she ships to Canada (she does!) because I wanted to purchase some of her jewelry and feature it on my Instagram page. She very kindly offered to send me a pair of hoops as a gift and I was thrilled! I chose the Celestial Tiny Star Hoops and they are just gorgeous. They are gold plated and nickel and lead free.
The jewelry I wear daily is quite minimal. I prefer to invest in timeless pieces that I can wear for years to come. Simple gold pieces will always be stylish and they elevate any outfit. The Celestial Hoops fit into my existing collection perfectly and I’ve been reaching for them constantly. They can be dressed up or down to suit any outfit. I’ve worn them with jeans and a tee shirt but I know they’ll work just as well with my more formal work outfits.
I’ve got my eye on a few of the other pieces from the current collection, including:

I’d love to know if you are supporting any of your favourite small businesses. Let me know in the comments!
This post was not sponsored, however, the earrings were given to me for review. As always, my opinions are my own.
