Sleeping Beauty

Dry lips. Ugh. For a lipstick lover dry lips are the worst. They are uncomfortable, even painful, stubborn, and not nice to look at. The climate in Yukon is exceptionally dry. Combine that with cold temperatures and electric heat and you’ve got the perfect recipe for dry, flaky lips.

I’ve tried a lot of different remedies over the last few years. Burt’s Bees lip balms aren’t quite up the task, and vaseline is effective but unpleasant to use.

I ordered this Laneige Lip Sleeping Mask from Sephora about a year ago out of desperation. Laneige is a Korean skincare brand. From the website:

“Define Your Natural Beauty. Reveal your natural glow effortlessly with LANEIGE’s innovative yet uncomplicated skincare and makeup.”

They had me at effortless and uncomplicated. One slick of this delectably strawberry scented lip mask and you’ll wake up with a soft and flake free kisser ready for a swipe of your favourite lipstick. I love this stuff and the tub will last you ages!

If you’re a germaphobe (bless you), the mask comes with a little scoop so you don’t have to dip your fingers into the pot. I immediately lost mine but I thought it was a nice touch.

Do you struggle with dry lips?

  1. Yes! I struggle with dry lips and I have pretty big ones too hahahaha. This is timely post to read since I was just saying how my lips are so dry right now and that I should carry lip balm with me at all times. This product sounds really good but I am not a fan of scented stuff.

  2. My lips aren’t dry as such, but they do get kind of flaky. I might have a look out for this soon, especially when it hits the winter months!

  3. I don’t tend to have dry lips (maybe because I always keep forgetting to put lipstick on 🙄) but sometimes yes I do, especially when it’s windy and cold! I use to love a shea butter based lipstick from Arbonne, but this sounds like a good alternative! Thanks for sharing 🙂

  4. As someone with psoriasis, dry lips have plagued my life for the longest time! I’ve never heard of a lip sleeping mask before, that’s such an interesting concept. x
