I’ve made no secret of the fact that I think Revlon knocks it out of the park in the lip product department. For a totes reasonable price you can grab yourself a lippie as good as, if not better than, anything you’d get at M.A.C. for twice as much. I was at London Drugs the other day (I have a tendency to casually wander over there and look at the make-up on my lunch break) and the Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stains were on sale for only $4.99! Mere pennies! Pennies my darlings!
10 Days of Favourites #3: Lips
I have a lot of lipsticks, balms, glosses, stains, etc. It all started with Lip Smackers when I was a teenager and 100 20 some odd years later the addiction continues.
Lately I’ve been loving Revlon. I’ve tried a lot of different brands, high end and drugstore lines, of lip products and I have to say that Revlon kills it. I’ve yet to buy a Revlon lip product that I don’t like.
I have two lip butters, in the shades Sugar Plum and Wild Watermelon. I love both but reach for Sugar Plum more often because it’s an easy, goes-with-everything shade.
I have one Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stain in the shade Lovesick. This is a lot pinker than I thought it would be, it’s pretty bold, but I still use it fairly often. The formula of these is really cool. They go on like a balm but, as the glossiness fades, you’re left with a long lasting stain. Neato.
I have one Revlon lipstick. The formula is called Super Lustrous and the shade is Fire and Ice. It’s an orangey red and I love it as a statement lip with just mascara and light blush.
Left to right: Sugar Plum, Wild Watermelon, Lovesick, Fire and Ice.
Have you tried any of these?
Do you guys ever find yourselves stuck in a make-up rut? I sure do. Every day for about a month now I’ve had the same face: BB cream, Revlon Stay Matte Powder, a MAC paint pot on my eyes, a MAC blush on my cheeks (which I should review because I luuuuuurve it), and my trusty Revlon lip butter. Pink, pretty, and complete in about two minutes. If it ain’t broke I suppose…
Today I’m going to talk about the Revlon Colourburst Lip Butter. I have the shade Berry Smoothie. It’s a great, go-to deep pink. They’re about $11 at Shopper’s and worth every penny. The colour is semi-opaque, and just really pretty. The formula is nice. It glides on smooth, doesn’t highlight any flakes or cracks, and the texture is rich and creamy. It’s nice and moisturizing.
The bad news is that mine has almost run out. The good news? Well, now I can buy a new one! Any colour suggestions?
Verdict? Give these a go, you won’t be sorry.
Have you tried out the Revlon Colourburst Lip Butters?
Happy Monday my lovelies! I hope everyone had a wonderful weekend!
I love nail polish but I rarely paint my nails. It just seems like a lot of effort, and I’m kind of anal so the second it chips I have to take it off. That said, as I mentioned in my last post, I had a bunch of girlfriends over on Friday night and we had a nail painting party! We had a great time. Everyone painted their nails, and we all got a little light headed from the fumes! I picked up bottle of Revlon’s Brilliant Strength Nail Enamel in Enrapture just in time for the party. It’s a really pretty plum colour with a bit of gold shimmer. I thought it looked nice and festive; ’tis the season afterall! The brush was nice and wide, which I like, and the polish went on smooth. I applied two coats and topped it off with my Revlon topcoat. I love the way it looks; it’s a beautiful colour for winter. I slapped a bit of sparkly O.P.I. on the ring finger of each hand and voila, there you have it!
The polish is starting to wear off a little on the tips of my nails but, apart from that, it’s holding up nicely so far! The price point is around $6 so I’m pretty happy! If you’re looking for an inexpensive way to incorporate a little festivity into your look this polish is a nice way to do it!
Yesterday I attended The Style Common’s Deck Your Closet event at the Four Seasons Hotel. It was a lovely event and my room-mate and I scored some great deals (the best of which was a Michael Kors purse for $50!). As we were leaving to hotel we spotted Jody Claman of The Real Housewives of Vancouver! We asked her for a photo and she was happy to oblige. She was lovely! It was a fun way to end a lovely morning!
How was your weekend?
