It’s very dry where I live. Think of a desert with snow. As I’ve aged I’ve found that my skin is less able to cope with the climate than it was when I was younger. It’s still oily but now, for the first time in my life, I am having to deal with the occasional dry patch, some redness, and a general tight feeling in my skin. Unpleasant. I got this generous sample size of Sunday Riley Good Genes All-I-One Lactic Acid Treatment in a Sephora Favourites box of goodies I bought last winter. I finally got around to using it in February and within a few weeks my skin was looking the best it had in a long time. Colour me impressed.
You may have heard me mention that fact that I have oily skin the odd time, or three. It’s true. It’s a constant battle to keep my makeup from disappearing and it gets worse in the warm months. Over the years I’ve picked up a few tips and tricks to make my look last longer in the heat and today I’m sharing my top five summer makeup tips for summer 2019!
Today we’re going to be talking about mascara, or more specifically, my all time favourite mascara. Guess what! It’s from the drugstore and won’t cost you your first born! I think that mascara is definitely something you should not be spending gobs of money on, particularly because it’s only good for about six months. L’Oreal Telescopic Carbon Black mascara can be purchased at any drugstore carrying L’Oreal products so it’s easy to find. Let’s dig in to the review!
Herbivore is a brand I became aware of a year or so ago when Sephora started carrying their stuff. I was initially attracted to it because of the beautiful and simple packaging. I do judge books by their covers, kittens, and if Herbivore writes a book I’ll be their first customer! Once I learned a bit more about the brand, namely they don’t test on animals and they use high quality, natural ingredients and none of the nasties like parabens, I made my first order. Welcome to my Herbivore Botanicals Review!
About a month ago I maxed out my Shopper’s Drug Mart optimum points (best reward program ever). Of course I immediately set about spending every single point. Picture a crazed kid in a candy store and you’ll have some idea of what happened. I spent some time at the Clarins counter because I’m a fan!
