If you suffer from anxiety you know how debilitating it can be. Shortness of breath, tightness in the chest, racing thoughts, dissociation, and insomnia, while not life threatening, are scary and have long term consequences on your health. I’ve dealt with anxiety my entire life and, while I haven’t managed to cure myself of it, I have learned some ways that help me manage it so I can get on with things. I hope that this list of tips for dealing with anxiety I have found to be helpful are useful for you.
I usually try to stay away from controversial topics on my blog. I prefer to keep it light and fun. However, our current environmental situation is desperate and I feel strongly about it. I’m making the change to a sustainable wardrobe and I want to tell you why. This post may get a little preachy and I apologize for that. It’s important though, so I encourage you to read on!
The Current Situation
Our current situation is pretty dire. With climate change, overpopulation, deforestation, and pollution we have nearly succeeded in making our home planet inhospitable to human life, as well as to most of our fellow animals. We’ve got a very short time left to make some drastic changes if we want to change our current circumstances. There are lots of things we can all do to help that go beyond recycling.
Since learning that L’Oreal products are not cruelty free, I’ve been on the hunt for a mascara to replace the L’Oreal telescopic that I used to use. After reading a number of positive reviews I decided to order Tarte’s Lights, Camera, Lashes 4-in-1 Mascara. Tarte products are cruelty free and formulated without parabens, mineral oils, and all the other nasties. Welcome to my Tarte Lights, Camera, Lashes review!
Coats and jackets have long been a favourite wardrobe item of mine. My collection is rather large and includes winter coats, faux fur, a Yukon parka, jean jackets, trenches, suede, and my leather jacket, which is one of my most prized possessions. If you challenged me to pick a favourite style I think I would have to go with moto jackets for a few different reasons. They are versatile, a bit edgy, and suit my body type – I have long legs and a short torso. Moto jackets hit at just the right spot near my waist.
In my work wardrobe basics post I mentioned that fact that I think a black skirt is a must-have. Mine gets worn three to four times per week. I would argue that it’s one of the hardest working pieces in my closet.
I’ve pulled together four different looks to give you some inspiration for styling a black skirt for the office. If skirts aren’t your thing I think black pants could easily be subbed in.
