Pacifica is a truly lovely line of products that a friend introduced me to a few years ago. It’s a collection of body butters, lotions, perfumes, candles, and body washes with scents that are to die for. It’s all natural, and free from all of those nasty chemicals we hear so much about. It’s kind of hard to find, Whole Foods carries it along with a handful of other specialty boutiques. It can also be purchased directly from the website, and of course, via eBay. I was thrilled a couple of weeks ago when I found it at a variety store here in lovely Vancouver, and at a fraction of the usual rather spendy prices!
Hello! Did you think I’d died? Well, excellent news: I am alive! I moved to a new apartment about a week ago (LOVE it) and that kept me pretty busy for a while there. I also just needed a bit of a breather – you know? I’ve been feeling pretty stressed lately, and without going into a lot of gory detail, it’s taken a bit of a toll on me.
Ok y’all, I am a curly haired lass. That means that I hate my hair, and I always have. I have never wanted anything more than I want long, swishy, straight hair. Alas, it is not meant to be. I’ve recently (within the last two or three years) started coming to terms with the fact that I’m never going to wake up and have straight hair. That means that I have started trying to work with my hair rather than attempting to beat it into straight submission. For the first time in my life I have a really fantastic (read “expensive”) hair cut, and it makes a huge difference. The other thing that makes a difference is product. I’ve tried all kinds, high end, as well as drug store buys. Some of my favourites include Potion 9 by Sebastian, an AG leave-in conditioner, and Morrocan Oil.
A few months ago I
accidentally went into M.A.C.. Such a lovely place; it’s filled with make up, and sunshine, and ponies. The shop assistants are lovely people, and quite frankly, they make the world a better place. Anyway, I digress. I went in with the intention of purchasing the Paint Pot in Let’s Skate. I’d read a few positive reviews and I was keen to try it out. I was all focused and purposeful (ha ha), but I was talked into trying out the shade Vintage Selection by one of the lovely sales girls, and boy am I glad. Let’s Skate is certainly pretty and it would make a great eye-shadow base, but Vintage Selection is, for me, a Holy Grail, perfect pink. It’s a great base as well, but, and this is the kicker, it’s beautiful on it’s own. For the lazy girl-on-the-go this is a perfect one-step, slap it on and yer done, eye-shadow.
Do you guys ever find yourselves stuck in a make-up rut? I sure do. Every day for about a month now I’ve had the same face: BB cream, Revlon Stay Matte Powder, a MAC paint pot on my eyes, a MAC blush on my cheeks (which I should review because I luuuuuurve it), and my trusty Revlon lip butter. Pink, pretty, and complete in about two minutes. If it ain’t broke I suppose…
