Maison Margiela Replica Review: unique fragrances for him and for her!

My love affair with fragrance has been ongoing for as long as I can remember. When I was a young teenager I received an apple scented body spray for Christmas. I was beyond thrilled and wore it to death. My tastes have matured since then but my intoxication with scent has remained the same. I still buy most of my body products based on smell. Fragrance invokes memories for me in such a visceral way. Any time I catch a whiff of nutmeg I’m immediately transported back to the trip I took to Greece in my early 20s, because I bought a nutmeg scented perfume while I was there. Dior’s Poison will forever be the scent I associate with my mother, all dolled up in a big 80s way for a night out on the town. Maison Margiela’s Replica fragrance line is designed to invoke long buried memories so I was hooked as soon as I learned about their perfumes. Welcome to my Maison Margiela Replica review!
Maison Margiela Replica Fragrance Review Poutine and Prada Lipstick On
From the Sephora website:

In 1994, Maison Martin Margiela introduced ‘REPLICA,’ a new seasonal line. The collection represents an interest in highly functional and emotive garments and accessories, meticulously reproduced to maintain the piece’s original character.

Maison Martin Margiela expanded upon this concept with a collection of ‘REPLICA’ fragrances that evoke the scents hidden deep in our memories

Maison Margiela Replica review

Lipstick On

Lipstick On is my favourite of the Replica line. It’s the most unique perfume I’ve come across. It’s a powdery floral that evokes lipstick, blush, and setting powder. It makes me think of getting ready for an exciting evening out. I think it works for day and for night. It’s lovely as a winter scent but it is suitable for all year round!

Maison Margiela Replica Fragrance Review Poutine and Prada By the Fireplace

By the Fireplace

I bought By the Fireplace for Mr. P&P last Christmas and he loves it. It’s a unisex fragrance that evokes a cozy winter evening in front of the fireplace – exactly as you’d expect. It’s the perfect winter scent.

So far these two are the only frangrances from Maison Margiela’s Replica line that I’ve had the pleasure of trying. I have a few more on my wish list though, including Whispers in the Library and Beach Walk. Have you tried any of the Maison Margiela Replica fragrances? I’d love to know which is your favourite.

  1. I know exactly what you mean about scent memories, Givenchy’s Ysatis reminds me of my mother every time. I haven’t heard of Maison Margiela’s Replica fragrance line before but what a brilliant idea, perfect for that nostalgic vibe! Lisa x

  2. Scent memories are so strong, especially ones that remind me of my teens for some reason. I’ve heard so many great things about Replica fragrances but I haven’t tried any yet x
