“I like my money right where I can see it… hanging in my closet.”
– Carrie Bradshaw
I’m a bag girl at heart. Shoes, while nice, don’t really do it for me. I like coats as well, but a gorgeous handbag really makes me swoon. For years, and years, and years I’ve pinned and Googled and stalked second hand sites in search of my dream bag. I don’t know that I’ve found it yet… maybe I have more than one dream bag?
Love That Bag
I turned 40 this year (I know, I’ve gone on, and on, and on about it) and I decided to save up and treat myself to something really special. Cue hours of browsing my favourite site for pre-loved designer handbags. Love That Bag is a bag lovers’ dream. It’s a Canadian consignment site that sells authentic secondhand designer items. They’re recently expanded into clothing, jewelry, and shoes in addition to handbags. They have a great layaway option that I took advantage of for my purchase. They have a few different options for the layaway plan but the bottom line is that you have three months to pay off your purchase. They also guarantee authenticity, which is a relief when you’re spending such a large chunk of change.
Salvatore Ferragamo Tan Mini Fiamma Crossbody
I knew that if I was going to buy an expensive bag I wanted a classic style that would go with everything. I wanted something I could enjoy using every damn day. After a lot of thinking and browsing and researching I decided on the Salvatore Ferragamo Tan Mini Fiamma Crossbody. Isn’t she gorgeous?
This little beauty debuted in the Fall 2014 Ferragamo collection. It is made of calfskin and has a removable cross-body strap and gold hardware. The quality is excellent and the bag is hard-wearing. I wanted something that I could use every day and this bag is perfect for that. It’s not huge but it holds all the essentials including a wallet, my phone, my keys, and a lippie. It works for the office with dressier outfits but it also goes perfectly with a tee and jeans on the weekend.
Overall I’m thrilled with my bag and I’m sure I’ll be wearing it for years to come. Are you a bag person?
