Lights! Camera! Lashes! A review of Tarte’s Lights, Camera, Lashes 4-in-1 Mascara

Tarte Lights Camera Lashes Mascara review

Cruelty Free

Since learning that L’Oreal products are not cruelty free, I’ve been on the hunt for a mascara to replace the L’Oreal telescopic that I used to use. After reading a number of positive reviews I decided to order Tarte’s Lights, Camera, Lashes 4-in-1 Mascara. Tarte products are cruelty free and formulated without parabens, mineral oils, and all the other nasties. Welcome to my Tarte Lights, Camera, Lashes review!

My Review – Tarte Lights, Camera, Lashes

My lashes are (sadly) not long. The thing I want most from a mascara is length, however, I also want volume and staying power. A lot of mascaras smudge on me for some reason. So does Lights, Camera, Lashes deliver on all of the above? Absolutely. I’ve found my new holy grail mascara. This stuff lasts all day long. It’s totally smudge free and it’s not even waterproof! It definitely gives a lot of length and it makes my lashes look a lot thicker. The applicator is thick and has a lot of bristles. I usually prefer a plastic applicator, but this one works just fine as long as I remove the excess product.

Tarte Lights Camera Lashes Review - Poutine and Prada

My apologies for the blurriness of the above photo but it was the best I could do with the camera on my phone. I’m posting it in spite of the poor quality because I really wanted to show you guys the before and after. You can see how much longer my lashes look on the left eye, the one with with mascara applied. As I said, I have quite short lashes but I think the difference in length is impressive.

Price

The only real con here is the price. At $30 per tube, Lights, Camera, Flashes is not a budget buy. If I stumble across an affordable dupe I will let you guys know!

Do you have a holy grail mascara? Let me know in the comments!

  1. Wow, such a difference between your left and right eyes. I also have short lashes, especially my bottom ones, so I’ll have to give this a try.

  2. I’ve heard all positive reviews on this mascara, but as you mentioned, it’s quite a pricey tube! But it has done wonders for your lashes! I have VERY short lashes so I’ve been wanting to try a serum to see if that will do anything for them, but haven’t come across one worth purchasing.
    Thanks for your review doll!
