I’d love to start off this year with a blog post highlighting everything I learned in 2020 and my motivational goals/plans/tips for a fantastic 2021, but the truth is that I am feeling apathetic about 2021 at best. Vanessa Ægirsdóttir: Beautiful Fur Jewelry
Vanessa Ægirsdóttir opened the doors of her Whitehorse shop in 2018. I noticed her beautifully crafted fur jewelry a year or so later when we followed each other on Instagram. My husband and I received a few of her pieces as wedding gifts and I was instantly smitten. Vanessa creates beautiful jewelry using Yukon furs and copper and silver.
“It is important that I use furs that are sourced from Indigenous traplines in the Yukon so that you can be assured that every fur is traceable and ethically harvested.”
“I like my money right where I can see it… hanging in my closet.”

I’m a bag girl at heart. Shoes, while nice, don’t really do it for me. I like coats as well, but a gorgeous handbag really makes me swoon. For years, and years, and years I’ve pinned and Googled and stalked second hand sites in search of my dream bag. I don’t know that I’ve found it yet… maybe I have more than one dream bag?
Aurelia + Icarus
I was introduced to Aurelia + Icarus about a year ago when I became acquainted with the lovely blogger, Trace, who created the line. Trace is inspired by beautiful objects, cultures and styles. She translates that in her studio by turning gold and gems into collectable pieces of distinct, limited-edition jewelry. I was instantly smitten with the brand for a number of reasons, including their commitment to sustainability, the accessible price point, and the simplicity of their gorgeous pieces.
