5 Spring Trends I Like

Hi guys! Today’s post is a guest post, all about the top spring trends, written by my lovely blogger friend Kat who blogs over at Femenish. Kat talks about fashion, feminism, and travel! Be sure to check out her blog and give her a follow on Instagram!

I love looking through the trends each season and finding looks that are versatile, long-lasting and just really cool. There are so many cool trends this season which I really like, and I am trying to recreate them using the items I already have in my wardrobe (gotta be sustainable)!

Here are 5 spring trends I like

Spring Trend – Crochet:

I love crochet items, and one of my favourite things this season are the crochet style tops that I saw everywhere when I was in the UK. I ended up buying a couple of crochet jumpers, because I didn’t take enough warm clothes with me and I needed something warm. Despite my dedication to sustainable fashion, I was on a very strict budget and bought these at an H&M sale.

I bought a pink jumper and black jumper, both of which have become items I am wearing constantly.

Trend – Earthy colours:

Usually I am someone who steps back from the beige/earthy tones. However, in 2016 I bought this amazing 1970s cord skirt. When I saw that these colours were trendy at the moment, I un-retired this skirt from my donation/sale pile and have actually fallen back in love with it. I like creating librarian style looks, because I am such a geek. This skirt goes perfectly with my pale pink t-shirt, Lotta clogs and a vintage cardigan that I got from Bamble Vintage.

Trying different things is fun. I have just accepted a job in Baku, Azerbaijan – a place I never expected to work in, but I am so excited for this next step in my career and life. It feels like I am moving forwards at last and really making a positive change. Remember, you need to be the driving force when making changes in your life. . . On another note, I decided on a more librarian look the other day! 1970s true vintage skirt, cardie from Bamble Vintage, and tshirt is from Cotton On. My shoes are my amazing @lottafromstockholm clogs. . . #femenish #discoverunder5k #discoverunder10k #positivelifechanges #lifestyle #makingachange #positivity #theuncoolclub #prettylittleiiinspo #personalstyle #makeyousmilestyle #anotheroutfitpost #girlswithstyle #reallifeandstyle #vintagestyle #1970sskirt #cordskirt #vintageooyd #vintagefashion #streetstyleluxe #stylediaries #foundforaged #retrostyle #vintageclothing #theblogissue #vintagelove #todayiamwearing #whatiwore #igstyle #outfitinspo

Spring Trend – Floral Print:

I love florals. Especially floral blouses and dresses. They are the perfect addition for work-wear, casual and also for going out. I bought this dress in 2017 and have worn it constantly – it is perfect for Spring and Autumn and is good for the cooler Summer days!

Trend – Mom Jeans:

Mom jeans have been in and out of style for the last few years. I bought my first pair at a charity shop back in 2011, was teased about them and then made them into cut-offs. They were actually the best cut-offs I had for ages. I recently bought a new pair of mom jeans, and I absolutely love them. I like how they are casual and comfortable. I’d like to get a darker pair, or maybe a white pair, to wear for non-casual outings.

Trend – Wedges:

I’m not sure if this is a trend per-say, but it is something I did notice a lot of people wearing. I love wedges, they create a vintage look and make me feel like throwing on a 1950s dress and doing a lot of baking.  And anyone who knows me knows that I don’t bake (except for a mean chocolate chip bikkie, but that’s another story). I bought these wedges back in 2012, and they are still going strong.

Sun is shining! Life is great! Holidays are on the horizon! I hope everyone is enjoying the lead up to Christmas. I did some Christmas shopping at the school Christmas market today! Is it too early to start watching Christmas movies on Netflix? #fashionbloggers #outfitinspiration #instastyle #instafashion #wiwt #lookoftheday #outfitdetails #girlswithstyle #fbloggers #streetstyle #discoverunder5k #prettylittleiiinspo #fbloggers #currentlywearing #streetstyleluxe #anotheroutfitpost #makeyousmilestyle #outfitoftheday #ootd #todayimwearing #reallifeandstyle #personalstyle #femenish #outfitoftheday #outfitblogger #theuncoolclub #styleguide #classyandfashionable #ootdblogger #stylegram #discoverunder10k #discoverunder5k #femenish #styleinfluencer

The majority of these items in this article were either bought so long ago you can’t find them in shops anymore (so helpful), or thrifted. When you find new trends you like, my advice is to search for them in charity stores. Find looks you could wear for more than one season!

What are some items you’re loving for Spring?
